Virtual Assistants: Before Applying, This Author's Editor Offers You Free Advice

Which one is The Best Me? You have the exact same problem when you're applying for any Virtual Assistant, VA, job or position!

Upwork Philippines is advertising "The Best Virtual Assistants For Hire In The Philippines." As a Filipino, I say "Yes!" Those 9 words have a double meaning – ask me.

You, when you're applying as a VA, for any of the following:
administrative assistance,
business development,
customer support,
Internet marketing,
video editing,
Web design & development,
writing,
whatever,
you have to learn to present your best side. You know yourself, of course, but you will be judged by somebody else who does NOT know you, according to your Application Letter & Resumé Text, ALERT. So, your ALERT becomes VIP – Very Important Papers.

For your ALERT, you have to do 2 things:

One: Write in good English.
Two: Enumerate your experiences & expertises to convince the company or fellow that you are the one candidate that will fit nicely, or exactly, with the need at hand.

Your ALERT must be able to tell the would-be employer directly (and indirectly) why you make a very good candidate, if not the best, for the job. That is not easy to do – of course, you know yourself, but it's different if you are "selling yourself" to someone else.

Now, look again at those 3 times me. (From photograph by Yja Hilario of her Lolo Frank, on 03 March 2015, with my Lumix FZ100 digital camera.) I was inspired to offer you my Author's Editor services when someone emailed me asking for my editorial and counseling help in fashioning out The Best ALERT in the world – or something like that.

Those 3 versions of me are my way of telling him – and you who are reading this – that you have to consider at least 3 sides of you in presenting yourself to the world of Virtual Assistants:

Left image: Unknown or Hazy You. You may not realize it but your ALERT is presenting a You that is blurred, with no outstanding features at all, no exceptional talent or experience. You have talents, but which one fits the VA need perfectly or at least well?

Middle image: You tell the would-be employer about the most exciting things about yourself, which of course you have to. Now, you may miss something – or you can overdo it; you need an Author's Editor like me to tell you if you are doing Good, Better, Best – or Bad.

Right image: You as Most Interesting VA, the one you can present for the specific VA job or position.

Yes, you need an outsider's advice, someone who is good in writing and also good in editing; you need a good Author's Editor – you need someone like me.

An Author's Editor is your BFF when applying as VA. Today, for you to celebrate a Happy New Year, here's a gift from me: I am offering free Virtual Advice, VA for VA, good throughout 2019. Simply email me your ALERT and you will receive free VA the next day.517
